Annette's Debut Album Color My World, features songs
that are about the human connections and experiences
that make life worth living. These tunes of relatable
truth tell stories drawn from her life as a wife, mother,
sister, daughter, friend and advocate for children through
her work as a music educator. This album has something
for listeners of all ages with catchy country folk sing-
a-longs and anthems, heartfelt ballads, California
acoustic vibes, a Patsy Cline influenced country
gospel ballad and heartwarming inspirational mantras.
Growing up with an electric taste in music, Adler
blends multiple genres into a folk-Americana sound
that is touched by the California Sun.
Annette's sophomore release is a collection of songs
that is a love letter to her sons released in memory
of her mom and mother-in-law, The songs on Mama
Proud come from Adler's own experiences as a parent
and from the collective voice of fellow mothers whom
she calls her "Mom Village," Blending several genres
for a folk, Americana sound, the album brings together
anthems, hootenannies, bluesy ballads, island vibes
and inviting sing-alongs. These tunes are filled with
powerful simplicity that aim to nurture, ground and
empower not only her sons but listeners too.
Throughout the album, listeners will get a sense of
what moms are really thinking even if they don't
always say so. It will speak not only to mothers, but
anyone who has navigated the emotional rollercoaster
of parenting.
"Empty Shoes" is dedicated to all victims and
survivors of senseless gun violence. It was inspired
by the student activists of the Marjory Stoneman
Douglas High School Shoot and a protest at the
U.S. Capitol that displayed th empty shoes of
children killed by gun violence.
"Relay For Life" was written for and dedicated to
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life
Charity Walk.
A co-write with fellow artist Mary Lou Fulton, generated
an inviting tune called "Come Along" that was featured
on the United Nation's Human Solidarity Day and was
a finalist in the Renaissance Artists and Writers
Association's Songs For Social Change competition
and album compilation.
